Born is Castleford, West Yorkshire in 1951. Harry is a former miner who joined a local art group during the beginning of the big miners strike of 1984-85 and never looked back.
After the mine was forced to close in 1985 he decided to paint full time, drawing on his experiences of being a miner his works reflect his social background.
He has exhibited his work throughout the country and has many of his 2D and 3D sculptures in public spaces including the 'James Backhouse Memorial' and the 'Allerton Bywater Colliery Memorial'
